Compensation committees are a good thing for churches and ministries. Those committees should use reference materials on clergy salaries and housing allowances. The pastor should not be a member of the compensation committee and the committee should make a recomendation to the board of directors. The board of directors should then accept or reject the recommendation making the designation for compensation arrangements. These designations should be recorded in writing and done before 2012 to be effect for 2012.
